The role of civil society in the face of increasing restrictions on the right to asylum: resistance and mobilisation
In 2022, the CSP celebrated the 50th anniversary of its refugee aid service. On this occasion, it published a book of archives and recollections, "Genève, terre d'asile", on half a century of activism and battle in favour of asylum seekers and a decent asylum and refugee policy. Faced with the successive toughening of the rules in this field, what is the role of civil society? What can it do to reverse legal and political trends?
The audience is invited to a discussion on these themes with a reading of excerpts from "Genève, terre d'asile", by the Genevan director José Lillo, author of a play on the Bergier Report. With remarks from Raphaël Rey, information officer of the Refugee Service of the CSP.
