Human Rights Film Tour

Screenings followed by debates on all continents. In partnership with the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and the Republic and Canton of Geneva, the FIFDH organises an international tour during the year, the Human Rights Film Tour.

In 2017, the FIFDH launched the Human Rights Film Tour on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Set up at the time in partnership with the DFA and the OHCHR, this international tour of films followed by debates was a huge success in 45 countries. Following the latter, the Festival organised in 2019-2020 with the DFA and the Republic and Canton of Geneva a new tour in 12 countries on 4 continents.

Organised locally by the Swiss embassies, these public events allowed for unique encounters in the presence of filmmakers, international guests and representatives of local NGOs. Women's rights*, universal justice, the death penalty, intolerance or migration, the films and debates of the Human Rights Film Tour give a voice to human rights defenders and open the debate in countries often directly concerned by these issues.
