Guided tour | Exhibition: To Heal a World 160 years of photography from the collections of the Red Cross
The humanitarian image is omnipresent and has been part of our daily lives for over a century, often appearing immediate and unambiguous. The photograph frames a scene and offers an interpretation. We think we understand everything about an event without even thinking about the off-screen, but the ground reality is always more complex than it appears. With over 600 images from 1850 to the present, A World to Heal is the result of more than two years of research in the collections of the MICR, the ICRC and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The project is co-produced with the Rencontres de la photographie d'Arles, where it will be presented in 2022.
