Grands entretiens

Duel #2: Screening of Serendipity | Prune Nourry

"In the museum, some people stop to look at one work, others at another. Which work will catch your eye is ultimately a mixture of chance and intuition: it's called serendipity"

Prune Nourry is a sculptor and visual artist whose work is featured worldwide. Over the past 15 years, she has brilliantly explored the fields of bioethics, the female body and fertility, mixing sculpture, video and photography. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer, her world turned upside down: Prune Nourry decided to turn her camera on herself and transform this illness into an artistic adventure. A conversation about the intimacy of one of the most prolific artists of her generation and cinema's role in this exploration.

Serendipity

By Prune Nourry

Prune Nourry, a renowned visual artist, makes her film debut with this film produced by Darren Aronofsky and Angelina Jolie, with the complicity of Agnès Varda. After focusing her work on the power of women and their bodies, Prune Nourry learns that she developes breast cancer. She decides to face this painful journey with her camera in hand. The intimate and the universal, intertwine in an ode to life and courage, before the hymn of victory. What if the things we call "chance" are connected in mysterious ways?
