War and peace in Colombia : escaping the impasse of hatred
This ambitious roadmap, hailed by the international community, aims to end the conflict, initiate deep state reforms and reconcile the country after decades of extreme violence. Five years later, the guerrillas are effectively demilitarised and transformed into a political party. Trials against crimes committed on both sides continue, as does the reintegration of former combatants. However, the implementation of the peace agreements is far from being achieved, and the much-desired reconciliation is long overdue. It is essential for Colombia to succeed in turning the page. But how to achieve forgiveness, peace and reconciliation after years of civil war?

Colombia, March 2008. In the jungle, the oldest communist guerrilla in the world is living its last moments. Raul Reyes, the FARC's second in command, is killed in a bombing. He leaves behind an unprecedented document: 10 years of correspondence with all the conflict's leading players, bearing witness to a fierce struggle. In mixed animation, Red Jungle immerses us in the intimate and political story of a man, but also of a revolutionary utopia that dreamed of changing the world before collapsing.
