Radio Silence
By Juliana Fanjul
As a multi-awarded journalist, Carmen Aristegui is one of the few voices in Mexico able to speak freely on the airwaves. She does not hesitate to expose corruption networks at the highest levels of State and clergy. In 2015, she was abruptly fired from the radio station that employed her. But Carmen never gives up: despite the threats against her and her family, she decided to create her own internet platform to continue to raise awareness about important issues in an intoxicated Mexican media landscape on a daily basis. Come meet an extraordinary woman!
