Skateistan is a school where young Afghan girls learn to read, write... and to do tricks on the half-pipe ! They also learn balance, autonomy, movement, and how to stand tall. This moving film won the 2020 Oscar for Best Documentary Short Film, and reminds us that skateboarding transcends social classes, strengthens us, and allows us to share a laugh.
