Joy, Dante, and their daughter Angel live in Manila. One night, Dante comes home drunk, as usual, and hits his wife, as usual. But this is one time too many: Joy leaves, slamming the door before deciding to press charges. A protracted confrontation with the justice system ensues, mingled with prohibitively-expensive lawyers, incitement to withdraw the complaint, and a never-ending procedure. Raymund Ribay Gutierrez has conceived a film of great intensity, shot with a handheld camera, which tells the story of the legal web in which so many survivors of violence find themselves entangled.
