Competition - Fiction

A Son

By Mehdi M. Barsaoui

Tunisia, summer 2011. A family living out happy days suddenly sees their life turned upside down after an ambush at the country’s southern border with Libya. A steep descent into hell ensues, where the past suddenly resurfaces with unpredictable consequences. The film is driven by outstanding performances, including a masterful Sami Bouajila, and delicately blends tradition and modernity in a breathtaking drama.
