The Wife

By Björn Runge

The Wife is the portrait of a woman in the shadow of her Nobel Prize-winning husband.
Björn Runge directs an elegant and masterful film about love, sacrifice, resentment and the invisibility of women in literature. The film is carried by the masterful performance of Glenn Close, with tenderness and exasperation, pride and hatred. Her daughter Annie Starke portrays the character’s younger self.
The Wife, which earned Glenn Close an Oscar nomination and a string of international awards, was co-produced by Claudia Bluemhuber of Zurich-based Silver Reel.
