Juries and prizes 2023

After a career in research and teaching in Sociology, Anna Glogowski was appointed deputy director and then director of documentaries at Canal+ France, then curator-director at France TV. She has worked as a programmer for various festivals, including Paris Cinéma, La Cita, Doclisboa and FIPA. She then became an international consultant for the development of documentary projects, including Cannes Docs, ADDOC and Agora Docs Thessaloniki. She has been a member of various funding commissions of the CNC, such as the Aide au Court-Métrage and the Aide aux Cinémas du Monde. She has been a member of the jury of several festivals, such as Visions du Réel, Roma Film Festival or Trieste Film Festival. She is a member of the Selection Committee of the It's All True Festival in Brazil since 2003 and of the FIPADOC in Biarritz since 2019.

Delphine Kemneloum Djiraïbé is a lawyer and a pioneer of the Chadian human rights movement. She has long campaigned for the prosecution of dictator Hissène Habré, who was finally convicted in 2016 for crimes against humanity. Her fight has also led her to advise and represent on a pro bono basis numerous cases of human rights violations before the courts. She heads the non-governmental organization Public Interest Law Center (PILC) in Chad, in which more than 200 volunteer paralegals have been trained and work throughout the country. A strong advocate for women's rights, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives for their implementation and actively fights against gender-based violence. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her work, including the Martin Ennals Award 2023.

Dominique de Rivaz is a Swiss director, writer, stage director and photographer. Following her studies in literature and history at the University of Fribourg, she began directing short films, including Aélia and Le Jour du bain, for which she was awarded the Leopard de Demain at the Locarno International Film Festival. She also directed several documentaries, such as George Borgeaud or the joys of writing. She received the Grand Prix du Cinéma Suisse in 2004 for her first feature film Mein Name ist Bach. In the fall of 2022, the Swiss Film Archive will devote a retrospective to her. She also directed a theatrical memoir about Anna Politkovskaya, Femme non-rééducable. She is the author of several novels, including Rose Envy, and has published numerous photographic books, such as Sans début ni fin, le Chemin du mur de Berlin and Kaliningrad, la petite Russie d'Europe, in collaboration with Dmitri Leltschuk.

Luciano Barisone is a film club programmer, journalist (La Stampa, Il Manifesto) and film critic (Filmcritica, Cineforum). In 1990 he founded the magazine Panoramiques, which he directed until 2010. He is the author of numerous monographs on Catherine Breillat, Clint Eastwood and Sydney Pollack. Between 1997 and 2010, he collaborated with several film festivals, including the Locarno and Venice festivals. In 2002, he created the Infinity Festival of Alba, which he directed until 2007, before directing the Festival dei Popoli of Florence until 2010. Between 2011 and 2017, he directed the documentary film festival Visions du Réel. He is currently artistic producer and consultant for multiple film festivals.

An art and design historian, Jean-Pierre Greff taught for ten years in several art schools and universities in France, before directing the Haute école des arts décoratifs de Strasbourg for ten years. In 2004, he took over the direction of the Geneva School of Fine Arts, then piloted its merger with the School of Applied Arts, thus giving birth to the HEAD - Geneva, School of Art and Design which he directed until 2022, overseeing the inauguration of its new campus. He is the author of numerous forewords and essays on photography, art and literature. Jean-Pierre Greff is currently president of the Plaza Foundation, which aims to revive the eponymous cinema, a historic building which ranks among Geneva's architectural heritage.

Kaltrina Krasniqi is a Kosovo-based filmmaker and researcher with degrees in filmmaking, production and communications. She is a founding member of the Kosovo Oral History Initiative, a digital archive that seeks to tell the history of Kosovo through unique life stories. She is the founder of the production company Vera Films and co-founder of Dit' e Nat', an informal space for the promotion of film, literature and music in Priština. She directed her first feature film Vera Dreams of the Sea in 2021, which premiered at the 78th Venice Film Festival and for which she received, among others, the Grand Prize at the Tokyo International Film Festival in 2021, the Ingmar Bergman Award at the Gothenburg Film Festival in 2022 and the Grand Prize for Fiction at the 20th edition of the FIFDH.

After a professional career as founder and editor-in-chief of several media outlets, and as host of programs on Léman Bleu Télévision, Radio-Lac and Yes FM, Thierry Oppikofer is the founder and managing director of the Journal de l'Immobilier, a real estate supplement of the daily newspaper Le Temps.  A member of the board of the Hélène and Victor Barbour Foundation since 2019, he represents the Foundation in its various cultural activities. He has always been interested in cinema and his participation in the Jury of the Grand Prix Fiction, offered by the Hélène Barbour Foundation for the 2023 edition of the FIFDH, is in keeping with his professional activities.

Toni Kamau is a producer, writer and the founder of Kenyan production company We are not the machine. She recently produced the award-winning feature documentary Softie, directed by Sam Soko, and I am Samuel, directed by Pete Murimi and screened at the 2020 BFI London Film Festival. She is currently working on a feature film about climate change and a series exploring the legacy of colonialism on the African continent. She is committed to representing the Kenyan film industry on the international stage, which she actively does through her membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Brown Girls Doc Mafia, Producers Guild of America Awards, and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS).
