Lobo e Cão
By Cláudia Varejão
In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, on the island of São Miguel, Ana is faced with the burden of tradition and religion. Thanks to the local queer community and driven by the desire and strength of youth, she discovers a new sense of freedom. Cláudia Varejaõ manages to delicately sketch a world in the making, which is often a reflection of her own personal concerns. The filmmaker's accurate gaze, acquired through her documentary work, is constantly on a par with her characters. Fiction becomes a space for freedom and clarity in the midst of the frailty of life.
