A Tramway in Jerusalem & A Conversation with Amos Gitaï

For more than forty years, Israeli filmmaker Amos Gitaï has built a lively, radical and deeply engaged body of work, combining the intimate, political and poetic, fiction, documentary and video. His films, including Kaddosh, Yom Kippur, Free Zone and Disengagement have been shown around the world and have earned him many awards, including the Leopard of Honour at Locarno (2008), the Roberto Rossellini Award (2005), the Robert Bresson Prize (2013), and the Paradjanov Prize (2014). This year he is the Chair professor of Artistic Creation at the prestigious Collège de France. Amos Gitai will meet the public after the screening of Tramway to Jerusalem and A Letter to a friend in Gaza.

A Tramway in Jerusalem

By Amos Gitaï

Serving the city from East to West, the Jerusalem tramway navigates through dozens of religions and cultures every day. A filmmaker obsessed with "exile" and "territories", Amos Gitaï brings us a bittersweet comedy in which the very best actors Israël and Palestine have to offer share the screen with Mathieu Amalric and Pippo Delbono.
