The emotion through touch, sound and dance

Empathy is the capacity that allows us to to sense other people’s emotions, and to understand ourselves and those who are different from us. From an early age, learning to express and value emotions is one of the pillars of empathy. Adults and children will have the opportunity to explore and express together a given emotion, through their voices, their body movements and the creation of a collective picture.

Filles et soie
Theatre
Through a modern retelling of Snow White, The Little Mermaid and Donkeyskin, Filles et Soie questions, with humor and derision, what it means “to be a woman” in today’s world. Locked in a cubic castle, like a straightjacket of expectations and ideals, a curvaceous actress summons silhouettes of wire and silk paper, shadows and objects to unravel our stereotypes and obsessions. Both fragile and poignant, this play is tailored for children (5 years+) and their parents.
Directed by Séverine Coulon
From 13 to 24 March - Théâtre des Marionnettes de Genève
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind
Film
Chiwetel Ejiofor, United Kingdom, 2019, 113’, vo eng/nyanja, st fr/eng
Young William lives in a village in Malawi with his mother (Aïssa Maïga) and father (Chiwetel Ejiofor). When a terrible drought befalls the region, the threat of famine pushes him to seek out a solution: what if he built a water pump with a small bicycle generator? With this first feature film inspired by the incredible fate of a young self-taught Malawian, actor-director Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) presents a remarkable story of perseverance and ingenuity, selected at the last Sundance Festival.
