Theatre 2019

The Théâtre de Vidy and the Théâtre du Galpon, partners of the FIFDH, offer you two plays as part of the Festival.

La Dame aux Camélias

Drawing from the novel and play by Dumas fils, Arthur Nauzyciel describes the invention of the commodification and moralization of women’s bodies in the 19th century by the French bourgeoisie. A fascinating and passionate show that merges theatre and cinema to tell one of the most sulphurous love stories and reveal the twisted relationships between love, power and money.

Directed by Arthur Nauzyciel, play by Alexandre Dumas fils

From 13 to 15 March - Théâtre de Vidy

Lampedusa, un rocher de survie

Through objects gathered on the island and based on real encounters, two artists have created a piece which speaks of the situation in Lampedusa, a rock in the middle of the sea, which contains within its land many elements that tell the complexity of the migrant crisis and the end of the dream of a united Europe.

Directed by Filippo Filliger and Dorothée Thébert

From 14 to 24 March - Théâtre du Galpon
