La hija de todas las rabias

By Laura Baumeister

Maria and her mother Lilibeth live in precarious conditions on the edge of Nicaragua's largest rubbish tip. One day, the little girl does not see her mother come home. She engages in a dialogue with Tadeo, a friend who helps her overcome her fear and rage. Through the magical power of dreams, she seeks to reunite with Lilibeth. The director crafts a parable that gracefully explores the precious mother-daughter bond while delicately echoing the issues of ecology and the exploitation of minors. La hija de todas las rabias is only the fifth Nicaraguan fiction film made in the last 30 years and the first one directed by a woman.
