Veins of the World
By Byambasuren Davaa
"When the last thread of gold will have been pulled out of the earth, the world will fall to dust" laments a Mongolian song. At the age of 12, Amra lives in the Mongolian steppe in a nomadic community whose living space is threatened by globalized mining companies. The boy must decide whether he wants to follow in the footsteps of his father, leader of the resistance against exploitation, or his own dream. A graceful film, alive with a beautiful sense of poetry.
