The Great Hack
By Karim Amer & Jehane Noujaim

The Cambridge Analytica scandal highlighted how some companies were exploiting our personal data. How can the general public be made aware of the need to protect their data? Cambridge Analytica, a company founded by representatives of the American hard right, has siphoned off and used thousands of personal data records to influence the outcome of elections, whether in the US, Brazil, the UK or India. How do you protect your personal data in the world of social media, applications and search engines that capitalize on the very use of this data? Are we sufficiently aware of the consequences for democracy of the fraudulent use of data? The Great Hack sheds light on the dark world of computer data exploitation through the testimonies of the various stakeholders involved in the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Paul-Olivier Dehaye and David Caroll, who will participate in the discussion, are two of the main protagonists of the film.
