A Conversation with Roberto Saviano & screening of "La paranza dei bambini"
Italian writer and essayist Roberto Saviano has established himself as one of the sharpest observers of social and political violence in Italy. His novel Piranhas (in italian, La Paranza Dei Bambini) describes the formation of a gang of very young Neapolitans who sink into ultra-violence, crime and easy money. Following the screening of the film derived from the book, Roberto Saviano will address transversal issues that appear both through his work and his political commitment.
Discussion in Italian with simultaneous translation into English.
The discussion will be diffused at the same time in cafe Babel, with free entrance, from 10.45 p.m.

Naples, Sanità neighborhood. Nicola and his gang of kids from 10 to 18 years old, the paranza, fear neither prison nor death: money, power and survival are all that matters. They don't care what's fair or not: in a world without a future, they live in in a state of permanent war. A burning adaptation of Roberto Saviano's eponymous first novel.
