The Roundup
By Hajooj Kuka
In Sudan, Adnan, a rebel soldier, is madly in love with his AK-47 and his fiancée Lina. Returning from a leave of absence, he is pursued by the army who accuse him of desertion. He is joined in his escape by a most improbable accomplice, the pacifist deserter Absi. Following his documentary Beats of the Antonov (FIFDH 2017), the young Sudanese filmmaker hajooj kuka presents a spirited and disarming fiction, shot in situ, with local actors.
