Programme for participants with a project
FIFDH Impact Day
Sixteen strong documentary film projects from all over the world have been selected to take part in the 2021 edition of the FIFDH Impact Day. The creative teams behind each of these films will attend a three-part Lab, in which experienced filmmakers and impact producers will help them develop impact goals and strategies for their own films, as well as guide them in collaborating with NGOs and other organisations outside of the film field.

Impact Lab - Part 3
Online event, Monday 8 March
The Impact Lab for the selected films’ teams will continue in groups during this module. It will specifically target preparations for their one-to-one meetings the following day with strategically selected changemakers.
Impact Day
Hybrid event, Tuesday 9 March
Pre-arranged one-to-one meetings between the selected films’ teams and changemakers (representatives of NGOs, foundations, international organisations, philanthropists, etc.) who share a common interest in similar issues and causes.

Vanessa Cuervo Forero
Good Pitch Program Manager for Latin America, Doc Society
Vanessa Cuervo Forero is Doc Society’s Good Pitch Program Manager for Latin America. She is also a facilitator in the Global Impact Producers Group, running training programs for filmmakers and Impact Producers across the continent. Vanessa has worked with cultural institutions including Skylight, Historias en Kilómetros, DOCCO, Creative Time, Elastic City, The New Museum and the Laundromat Project. Her latest impact collaborations include Sumercé, the first film to virtually premiere during the pandemic in Colombia.
Paco de Onís
Executive Director and Executive Producer, Skylight
Paco de Onís is the Executive Director and Executive Producer of Skylight, a nonprofit human rights media organization dedicated to advancing social justice through films and media tools applied in long-term strategies. One such strategy is SolidariLabs, Skylight's model for creating human rights media ecosystems composed of filmmakers, artists, technologists and human rights defenders, aimed at building networks to promote social justice.
Nicole van Schaik
Director of Development, Doc Society
Nicole van Schaik strategizes with filmmakers and impact producers on how to use their films as strategic tools for social or environmental change. For the Good Pitch program and Doc Society as a whole, she brokers partnerships with organizations from across civil society, including foundations, philanthropists, NGOs, brands, policymakers, activists, technology innovators and media.
Emily Wanja
Award-winning Impact producer
Emily Wanja is currently running the East Africa impact campaign dubbed We Can Fight Climate Change for the feature documentary Thank you for the Rain. In conjunction with Docubox (East Africa Documentary Film Fund) and Ground Volume International, she works with policy makers, private stakeholders, civil society and communities, using film as a tool to drive and accelerate social change.
Pamela Yates
Co-founder and Creative Director, Skylight
Pamela Yates is the co-founder and Creative Director of Skylight, a nonprofit human rights media organization dedicated to advancing social justice through films and media tools using collaborative networks of artists and activists. An award-winning director and producer, she is currently working on Borderland, a documentary highlighting instances of American resistance to the inhumane immigration policies enacted along the U.S.-Mexico border.
