Ani Mercedes

Impact Producer and Founder of Looky Looky Pictures

Ani Mercedes (Looky Looky Pictures) works with stories that go beyond empathy; that aim to participate in the transformational work of building solidarity with the communities they seek to serve. Ani and her team have implemented and advised on impact production for over 800 filmmakers, including the films Councilwoman, Through the Night, Building the American Dream, and LIYANA.

Nicole van Schaik

Director of Development, Doc Society

Nicole van Schaik strategizes with filmmakers and impact producers on how to use their films as strategic tools for social or environmental change. For the Good Pitch program and Doc Society as a whole, she brokers partnerships with organizations from across civil society, including foundations, philanthropists, NGOs, brands, policymakers, activists, technology innovators and media.

Naomi Walker

Global Impact Producers' Network Coordinator

As the first Coordinator of the Global Impact Producers Assembly (GIPA), Naomi is working with the GIPA Steering Committee to formalize and build capacity for the network. Previously, Naomi served as Executive Director of the Southern Documentary Fund; she worked with Doc Society as Outreach Director for Good Pitch Chicago in 2013 & 2015, and again for GPNY in 2016. Naomi spent nine years in Chicago as Engagement Consultant for ITVS, hosting over 80 documentary film screenings, followed by discussions, workshops, expos and performances.

Cara Mertes

Founding Director of the International Resource for Impact and Storytelling (IRIS)

Cara Mertes is Founding Director of the International Resource for Impact and Storytelling (IRIS), a donor collaborative focused on supporting creative visual storytelling and narrative analysis in the public interest internationally. Previously at Ford Foundation, she served as Project Director, Moving Image Exploration, International Programs, and director of JustFilms, the foundation’s creative documentary portfolio supporting artist-led films, strengthening organizations and networks.

Rebecca Lichtenfeld

Executive Director of InMaat Foundation

Rebecca Lichtenfeld is an Emmy award-winning human rights advocate, producer and impact strategist. She has created, produced, and executed ‘creative advocacy’ projects involving filmmakers, artists, heads of state and organizers from around the globe. Rebecca is currently the Executive Director of InMaat Foundation, a US-based foundation that promotes equality and human rights worldwide for underrepresented genders and those who are otherwise marginalized.

Rasmus Steen

Head of IMS Documentary Film, International Media Support (IMS)

Rasmus Steen is Head of Documentary Film at International Media Support. IMS works with an overall vision that documentary film can contribute to social, political, or cultural change. Over the years, IMS has supported more than 180 documentary films, including 40 co-productions between international and European filmmakers. Today, IMS operates in the Arab world, Eastern Europe, Africa, Central and Southeast Asia.
