Haiti – "En bas la ville"
The writer Laurent Gaudé and the photographer Gaël Turine propose an evening of poetic photography which will plunge the spectator into a visual and auditory Haitian experience. A blend between literature and photography, this ambulation guides us through the daily life of the inhabitants of Port-au-Prince and its city center, Enba Laville in Creole. With more than 2 million inhabitants, the capital of Haiti is bustling in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake and amidst the recurring political instability. The two authors' gazes put into perspective the disenchanted reality of the first black republic and reveal its beauty and dignity.
Following this performance, Laurent Gaudé and Gaël Turine will meet the audience of the Festival during a discussion moderated by Isabelle Lucas, historian.
