Constantly on the move between West Africa and Europe, the two artists Samba Diabaté and Vincent Zanetti created Kala Jula in 2011. Essentially instrumental and acoustic, their music is deeply rooted in Mandingo traditions, blues and jazz. Médecins Sans Frontières and Kala Jula decided to work together and use music to convey the history of migrants and their traumas, experienced during journeys undertaken at the risk of their lives.
