The Land Within

By Fisnik Maxville

Following an unexpected phone call, Remo leaves Geneva to return to Kosovo to his family. There, he must confront the dark secrets of his past and that of his family. Fisnik Maxville plunges us into a bewitching first film where the personal stories of the protagonists resonate with the many unspoken stories. Alternating between reality and fantasy, the filmmaker subtly plays with cinematic codes of genre and fashions an experience that goes beyond the portrayal of a territory and a conflict.
